Cooking Inexpensive Meat
May 22nd, 2020 · No Comments
Now that meat can be hard to find, we need ways to cook whatever we can get.
I used my Instant Pot Duo Mini to cook pork stew. Here’s my recipe:
1 package stew meat
1 onion chopped into bite size pieces
1 bell pepper chopped into bite size pieces
juice from one lemon
2 cups stock (add salt to your taste)
Pressure cooked on high for 1 hour.
Makes about four servings. (Instant Pot Mini is only 3 quart size. You can fill the instant pot only half way for pressure cooking.)

Watercolor as a Calming Activity
May 7th, 2020 · No Comments
These days I need a calming activity that I can do at home. Painting works. The key for me is to let go of the outcome. Often, when I’m working on a new greeting card, I don’t at all like my art, but hours later, I look at it again and I’m happy with it. I can accomplish more if I reserve judgement while I’m working.

It’s almost summer, so the boys need their cargo shorts.
How about some boxer briefs to go with the cargo shorts.

Best Toothbrush

I’ve been using the Philips Sonicare Healthy White Electric Toothbrush for years. They last and last. The dental hygienist is nearly always happy with me. No scolding!
I find the brush head that comes in the kit to be too harsh, so I buy the Philips Sonicare HX3026 Proresults Compact Brush three pack. You replace the brush head every three months, just like you would a regular toothbrush.
